The Faith Formation Department of St Alphonsa Syro Malabar Parish, Townsville, is a vibrant and spiritually enriching ministry dedicated to nurturing the Catholic faith in the hearts of our younger generation. With over 200 students and nearly 30 committed and passionate teachers, our Sunday School stands as a strong pillar of our parish community. Classes are held three times a month and follow a structured and prayerful schedule, beginning with a student assembly and concluding with the celebration of the Holy Qurbana. This format helps instill a deep sense of discipline, spirituality, and liturgical participation in our children from an early age.
Beyond the classroom, we offer a range of enriching experiences throughout the year, including the Annual Retreat, Faith Fest, Parish Tour, and the much-anticipated Annual Day. These events are designed to foster fellowship, deepen faith, and provide opportunities for students to grow spiritually, intellectually, and socially in a Christ-centered environment. Through the grace of God and the tireless efforts of our teachers and volunteers, our Sunday School continues to flourish as a well-organized and spiritually dynamic ministry, shaping the future of our parish and the wider Church.
